TimHoWan: A dimsum place of Juan!

Tim Ho Wan Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

YellowTravelingBoots couple were very curious about this dimsum place inside Glorietta 3 where we always see people lining outside to wait for an empty tables inside. Finally, the day has come when we finally tried it…our verdict – the best dimsum place by far!

I personally commend the speedy service of the crew and the restaurant’s very systematic process. Eating here is like learning ABC – very efficient!

A. Sit down and choose your order. A printed copy of the menu serves as your place mat

image

B. Write your order. An “order slip” & pen are already available on the table so you can go ahead and choose the food and   quantity you like. No waiting time.

C. Call the crew to order. Give your filled out “order slip”

D. Crew process your order. A separate slip will be placed on the table where you can monitor which among your orders have already been served – really cool!

E. Your order is served. Chow!

F. Get the bill from the crew and pay

When we entered the restaurant, we were very hungry so we ordered rice bowls, plus their famous buns, plus dumpling, a dessert, and an iced tea. Our instinct was telling us that these were just enough for us.

Finally, here comes our order!

image

Baked Bun with BBQ Pork (3 pcs) at 145 PHP. These buns are the best! It is baked with precise moisture so it is neither soggy nor hard. Its dough is soft and light and the special butter coating adds a very special and delectable crunch to its taste. When I cracked it, there you go the yummy bbq pork filling inside the bun!

Pork Ribs Rice at 170 PHP. Never miss their rice bowls, they have a “special sauce” that makes it deliciously good!

Rice with Chicken, Sausage & Mushroom at 170 PHP. I was really full after eating half way of this bowl. This tastes good too!

Wasabi Salad Prawn Dumpling (3 pcs) at 140 PHP. I like the fact that these dumplings have a lot more stuffed prawns inside than the breading that wraps it. You can hardly taste the wasabe though but it’s good.

After we ate dumplings on top of our rice bowls and buns, we were already very full. However, since we ordered dessert we had to give it a try. Here comes our dessert…

image

Mango Pomelo Sago at 90 PHP. The mango, pomelo, and  tiny sago blend perfectly with all the other ingredients. I honestly felt like my full tummy magically emptied itself for this dessert! As the mango melts into my mouth, I was also looking forward to chew the pomelo & the tiny sago – such an interesting feeling.

After the dessert, we were feeling that fullness again. But thanks to their iced tea, it complemented the sweetness.

JUAN’s TimHoWan Tips:

1. Unless you are really a “big eater” or very hungry, you can combine a rice bowl and their buns, otherwise, you select either of the two only.

2. You can combine a rice bowl and a dumpling or the buns with dumpling, not all these three combinations if you are eating solo.

3. Try their Mango Pomelo Sago!

4. Try TimHoWan!
